لؤي بورويس
“Metal becomes a visceral language of tension, resilience, and human vulnerability.”
Loay Burwais revisits the questioning of the body and self through artistic explorations that use iron and metals as fundamental materials for visual dialogue. The artist employs these solid, harsh materials, contrasting with human fragility, to transform them into an expressive language that embodies deep layers of tension, emotion, and inner pulse. In his works, iron is not merely a material but an embodied emotional state; it bends, twists, and resists just as the body does when confronting its psychological transformations.
Through his sculptures and drawings, Burwais searches for spaces where violence intersects with serenity, and weight with lightness, offering a sensory reading of the human condition in an environment charged with transformation. The metallic mass assumes a symbolic value that transcends its materiality and becomes a visual embodiment of the contemporary Libyan experience, carrying anxiety, resilience, and a constant desire for reshaping.
